Cosmetic Dentistry Services

Cosmetic Dentistry ServicesCosmetic Dentistry can restore your smile and self-confidence. Cosmetic enhancement of the smile is one of the most highly valued options offered by dentists. Patients with misaligned teeth can choose to straighten their teeth, and thus achieve the perfect smile they've always wanted, by undergoing treatment using Invisalign® clear braces. In addition, new procedures such as bonded restorations, ceramic crowns, veneers, and teeth whitening procedures can match the color of natural teeth. Best of all, these procedures can be done quickly, relatively pain-free, and with a high degree of satisfaction for those who invest in them.

INVISALIGN® (CLEAR BRACES) are a series of aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. And since your Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only, with a plan devised by you and your dentist, you know you'll end up with a smile that truly fits.

DENTAL IMPLANTS is an artificial tooth root used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth. Virtually all dental implants placed today are root-form endosseous implants. In other words, virtually all dental implants appear similar to an actual tooth root (and thus possess a "root-form") and are placed within the bone. Dental implants can be used to support a number of dental prostheses, including crowns, implant-supported bridges or dentures.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES (or implant dentures) are a type of full overdenture that is secured in place by dental implants instead of simply resting on the gums as conventional dentures. Implant supported dentures can be used in either the lower or upper jaw, but generally upper jaw dentures need a larger number of denture implants for adequate support. Implant supported dentures provide several advantages over conventional dentures that are worth their higher cost: improved confidence, improved comfort, better eating ability, better taste sensation, less bone loss, improved appearance, improved speech and lower maintenance cost, to name a few.

BONDING is an adhesive process used for repairing damaged teeth that are slightly decayed, chipped, or cracked. A ceramic-resin filling material is used to match the surrounding tooth color. It is the material of choice for performing small, relatively simple tooth repairs and has effectively replaced standard mercury/silver fillings.

VENEERS are vacuum pressed porcelain cosmetic coverings that are bonded in place on the front surface of teeth using a very strong and durable adhesive. In situations where veneers are used, minimal tooth structure is removed. However, they are not practical if there is extensive tooth damage. They are designed to correct alignment, change color, close gaps, and repair worn out edges. Veneers can also be used to lengthen and change the angulation of teeth. They last longer than bonding repairs and can be significantly stronger than natural tooth structure. They fit to the teeth very precisely and their failure rate is extremely low. The use of veneers eliminates the problem of the black shadow at the gum line, as seen with conventional porcelain crowns using a metal substructure. They allow for the creation of a seamless and perfect smile with healthy, vibrant gum tissue.

CERAMIC CROWNS are the most natural and vital looking restorations available and are constructed to cover the entire exposed portion of a tooth. They may be used for teeth that are badly damaged or are so severely rotated that the choice of veneers is not practical. Old porcelain-metal crowns, which display the undesirable black shadow at the gum line, can now be replaced with the new ceramic technology crowns. They are very strong and highly aesthetic.

LASER TEETH WHITENING is a very popular procedure that can produce immediate results for stained or discolored teeth. Placing an oxidation gel on the teeth and exposing them to a high-intensity laser beam completes the process usually within an hour. At home, after the laser treatment, gel is placed inside a custom fit tray that is then placed over the teeth and worn overnight. This procedure is repeated until the desired result is achieved.
